Some good news for the Bucs stemming from Thursday’s practice, as left guard Ali Marpet was a full participant for the second straight day. That marks the first time Marpet has been a back-to-back full participant in practice since his concussion first occurred back in Week 8. Friday’s practice will be a telling one for Marpet’s availability for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

Unfortunately for the Bucs, starting cornerback Jamel Dean and left tackle Donovan Smith did not practice for the second straight day. Dean is in the concussion protocol, so it would be a surprise if he plays on Sunday. Veteran Ross Cockrell would likely start in his place. As for Smith, he played through a sprained ankle against the Rams, so there’s a chance he could rest it all week and then play on Sunday.

Here’s the full injury report for the week so far, with the Chiefs in excellent health entering Week 12.

Donovan Smith is a turnstile. If his ankle isnt 100% we should see how the backup looks.

Inconsistent-Yes. Turnstile-No. You obviously haven’t seen Josh Wells.

Well Smith is inconsistent when heathy. If he isn’t 100% he’s gonna be a turnstile.
I said O line would decide if the is team goes far in playoffs before season started. Not QB, not defense overall, but O line. Lack of protection and run game in the losses this year have been Bucs biggest issue imo. Will have to be better. I thought they had secondary fixed Bruce? I think O line, secondary, and Pass rusher have to be too priority this draft.

If I’m the Bucs I move Whirfs to LT and try Haig or someone at right for a game.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Donovan Smith will play. We better hope so.

Move Marpet to left tackle, play Stinnie at guard. Marpet is our best O linemen right now. He played LT in college, and has shown as a pro he can play RG, center, LG at a high level, why not left tackle?

We better hit the trenches hard in this upcoming draft, especially Oline.
