In a housekeeping move leading up to Super Bowl week, the Bucs have restored WR Cyril Grayson to the practice squad and released RB C.J. Prosise to make room for the pass-catcher. Grayson played 42 snaps on offense and 20 on special teams for the Bucs, but was placed on the reserve/injured list in December.
As for Prosise, there was some excitement about his signing given his history as a former wide receiver turned running back at Notre Dame, but he never saw the field for Tampa Bay despite their backfield’s struggles in the pass game all season long. Prosise has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and will now be looking for his fourth NFL team.
Grayson joins a Bucs practice squad already loaded with wide receivers, including Travis Jonsen, Codey McElroy and Josh Pearson.
