The interest of sports collectables -particularly sports cards – has waned some over the past decade when card and memorabilia shops were a common sight around most U.S. cities.
But when it comes to Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, the interest is as strong as ever. In fact, record-setting strong.
Brady’s rookie card recently sold at auction for a record $1.32 million and that price is believed to be the highest price paid for a football card, soaring past the previous record by nearly $500,000.

The same card, in an 8.5, was sold last month by @RickProbstein’s @probstein123 for $1.7M.
Probstein asked 3 of 7 people with a 9 if they would take $5M for the card.

Big Brady fan and known card collector James Park, purchased the card.
“I lived in Boston for 10 years and so am a huge fan of Brady,” Parks said. “I’ve also had a love of collecting cards since I was a kid. Given Brady’s uncontested status as GOAT in football, this card is an important piece of sports history and of any collection.”
