The NFL released their official list of compensatory draft picks for the 2021 NFL Draft on Wednesday, awarding the Bucs a sixth-round comp. pick after wide receiver Breshad Perriman departed last offseason to sign with the New York Jets on a one-year, $6.5 million deal.
Tampa Bay’s additional selection in this year’s draft – landing at Pick 217, the first of 12 total sixth-round comp. selections awarded – will give the Bucs a total of eight draft picks in 2021. That includes a first-, second-, third-, fourth-, fifth- and two seventh-round picks in addition to the awarded draft pick. This will mark the 21st compensatory pick that the Bucs have received since the league began awarding them in 1994, most recently trading a compensatory fourth-round pick to New England in 2020 for tight end Rob Gronkowski.
This is now the completed list of Tampa Bay’s draft picks for the 2021 NFL Draft:
- Round 1, Pick 32
- Round 2, Pick 64
- Round 3, Pick 96
- Round 4, Pick 139
- Round 5, Pick 178
- Round 6, Pick 217 (Compensatory)
- Round 7, Pick 253 (From Pittsburgh)
- Round 7, Pick 261
Each of the Bucs’ divisional rivals also received comp. picks as well. New Orleans was awarded the highest such pick in the division with third-round and sixth-round selections landing at Pick 106 and Pick 218, respectively. Atlanta was awarded a fifth-round and sixth-round selection at Pick 180 and Pick 183 and Carolina was awarded two sixth-round selections at Pick 222 and Pick 226.
