The Bucs have re-signed nearly every key contributor to their 2020 Super Bowl Championship team this offseason, including WR Chris Godwin (franchise tag), LB Lavonte David, OLB Shaq Barrett, TE Rob Gronkowski, DT Ndamukong Suh, RB Leonard Fournette and K Ryan Succop. The only key piece that remains unsigned is troubling WR Antonio Brown, who Bucs head coach Bruce Arians spoke about in an interview with 95.3 WDAE on Friday morning.

When asked by morning show host Ronnie Lane what the chances are of having Brown back in the fold for the 2021 season, Arians had this to say:

“I think [the chances] are ok,” Arians said. “Both sides have to meet sooner or later in the middle. But we’ve got offers out there, and we’re just waiting to see.”

Brown joined the team at midseason, playing his first game as a Buccaneer in Week 9. The veteran receiver finished the year with 45 catches for 483 yards and four touchdowns, with all four scores coming over the final three weeks of the regular season. Brown then scored in the first game of the playoffs against Washington, before an injury knocked him out for the majority of the next two playoff games. Brown returned for the Super Bowl to catch five passes for 22 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs.

On Thursday, NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo reported that Brown’s asking price was too high for the Bucs, which is the main reason that he remains unsigned at this point. Brown earned about $2 million after reaching incentives last season in Tampa Bay.

Brown might want to hold out for a better offer, but with his next court date to address sexual assault and rape accusations scheduled for December 2021, it is highly unlikely he’s going to get more than what is on the table from teams right now. If Brown remains unsigned when the NFL Draft rolls around, he may as well wait until training camp to sign anywhere.

Then again, Brown also runs the risk of offers being off the table entirely by the time training camp rolls around, as teams will feel as if they’re ready to roll into the season with their guys. If Brown is smart, he’d take the best offer on the table right now, before his luck runs out completely.
