For anyone worried about a Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers situation with the Bucs, you can put those fears to rest.

Not only did Bucs starter Tom Brady not feel threatened by the Buccaneers drafting former Gators standout Kyle Trask in the second round a week ago, Brady called Trask and offered to meet up as teammates.

“Yeah, he actually did, he reached out to me a couple days after the draft and you know, he was just making sure, or checking in on when I get into town so we can get together and maybe do some throwing and things like that,” Trask said on NFL Network. “It meant a lot to me.”

Reports coming from Green Bay have the Packers long-time starter and reigning MVP still miffed about the Packers taking love in the first round last year, so much so that Rodgers wants out.

That is clearly not the case here in Tampa Bay.

“Not only Tom, but a couple of other guys have reached out so you can definitely tell they have a great culture and a great group of people in this building and I can’t wait to get started.”

Trask is used  to being a backup to start his career as he saw little action in high school and it took an injury to former Gators starter Felipe Franks for Trask to even get on the field in Gainesville. That bad break for Franks, was a blessing for Trask, who went onto to become one of the best quarterbacks in college football in 2020, and almost helped the Gators beat Alabama in the SEC Championship game.

Trask understands his role in Tampa Bay for now.

“Yeah, I mean first and foremost, I just want to do anything I can to help the team and obviously the goal is going to be to win another Super Bowl,’’ Trask said. “And that’s going to be my main focus and whatever I can do at the end of the day to kind of lead the team in the right direction, I’ll be willing to do that.”
