The Bucs made some more roster cuts following their 34-3 loss to the Titans on Saturday night. All NFL teams must trim their roster to 80 players before Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Tampa Bay will release five players to get to 80, and Tampa Bay Times Bucs beat writer Rick Stroud revealed those names on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
#Bucs will waive/release five players to reach the 80-man roster limit and those cuts will begin today. WR T.J. Simmons, RB Troymaine Pope, LB Nate Brooks will be among those players waived. Pope did not play Saturday night.

Stroud reported that Nate Brooks is a linebacker, but in reality he’s a cornerback. Stroud also revealed the names of the other two in another tweet on Twitter.
#Bucs will also waive S Lawrence White IV and LB Quinton Bell. https://t.co/9j2GKRXHHd

None of these players is a surprise cut. All NFL teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by August 31 at 4:00 p.m. following the final preseason game. Tampa Bay travels to Houston to take on the Texans next Saturday night.
