Bucs head coach Bruce Arians provided an injury update after Friday’s practice. Wide receiver Antonio Brown, tight end Rob Gronkowski and cornerback Rashard Robinson were all ruled out and will not be traveling to Washington.

The biggest news on Friday centered around wide receiver Chris Godwin, who practiced, but will be a game-time decision.

“We’ll see how it is tomorrow, but he looked okay today,” Arians said. “So we’ll see how he is tomorrow. He did just enough to look okay – we’ll see how he is.”

If Godwin can’t play due to his foot injury, the Bucs could turn to wide receiver Breshard Perriman, who was recently signed to the practice squad. Perriman, who was released from Detroit, looked good in his return to Tampa Bay where he spent the 2019 season.

“He looks fine,” Arians said. “He remembered a lot of stuff. We’ll see how it goes for this week, but yeah, he looks good.”

Arians suggested that the Bucs could move Perriman up to the active roster as a practice squad exemption for Sunday’s game at Washington if the team would be without Brown and Godwin.

“Yeah, I don’t think there is any problem,” Arians said.

If Godwin is out, Tyler Johnson would move into the slot to replace him. Johnson has played the Z receiver position outside the last few weeks in place of Brown. He’s caught 14 passes for 191 yards this season, and Arians has been pleased with his job as a fill-in starter.

“Very, very steady,” Arians said. “Tom’s got all the confidence in the world, and I’ve got all the confidence in the world in Tyler. He steps up. He plays big every time. It took him a while to get in shape, but he got there.”

Another wide receiver that could be in the mix to help the Bucs on Sunday is Scotty Miller, who has been on injured reserve with a foot injury since the team’s Week 3 loss at Los Angeles. Arians said that Miller and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting are in the mix to be activated for Sunday’s game after returning to practice this week.

“They could be,” Arians said.

Activating either Miller or Murphy-Bunting would mean the Bucs would have to make a roster move. Murphy-Bunting has been out of action on injured reserve since dislocating his elbow in Week 1 against Dallas.
