According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bucs are no longer without a COVID concern. Veteran wide receiver Breshad Perriman was placed on the reserve/COVID list on Saturday. Perriman was the hero in Week 14, catching the 58-yard game-winning touchdown pass from Tom Brady in a 33-27 win over the Bills. Now the 7th-year receiver will miss his first game of the season as a Buc.

Thankfully, no other Bucs players were deemed close contacts or have tested positive. Perriman will be the only player to miss Sunday’s game against the Saints due to COVID reasons. The Bucs were one of just four teams around the league without anyone on the COVID list before Perriman’s positive test.
On the season, Perriman had caught four passes for 82 yards and dropped two others. He absorbed almost all of the WR3 snaps two weeks ago, but was out-snapped by Tyler Johnson last week. Johnson will likely step into a larger role against the Saints, while Scotty Miller gets off the inactive list. Johnson has just 23 catches for 247 yards and no touchdowns this season. However, his most productive game this season was against New Orleans, when he had five catches for 65 yards.
Tampa Bay also announced two practice squad elevations. Cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson will fill the spot voided by Perriman. He’ll add needed depth with Jamel Dean out and Richard Sherman doubtful. Running back/returner Kenjon Barner was also elevated to the roster, replacing the injured Giovani Bernard.
The Bucs host the Saints on Sunday Night Football in Week 15.
