On Sunday, the Bucs need a win to stay alive for the No. 2 seed in the NFC. But there are also several individual goals up for grabs in Week 18. A few Bucs players have a chance to move up in the record books, especially quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Mike Evans.
Brady has already set all the all-time NFL records, so he’s back to working on some franchise marks. The Pro Bowl quarterback needs 120 yards to pass Jameis Winston for the most passing yards in a single season by a Bucs QB. Brady currently sits at 4,990. He can also break his own record of 40 touchdown passes in a single season. Through 16 games, Brady matched his season total from a year ago. So he needs just one passing touchdown in the 17-game 2021 season to set a new franchise record.
Of course, the Bucs quarterback can also maintain his league-lead in passing yards and touchdowns for this season. Brady is currently tops in both categories.

As for wide receiver Mike Evans, he can break a couple of his own records. Sitting at 12 touchdowns, Evans needs just one score to match his franchise record 13, set a year ago. Two touchdowns would allow Evans’ to break his own record for the second time in as many years. The Bucs captain has four seasons of 12 touchdowns or more. Only four other wide receivers have ever bested that: Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Marvin Harrison.
Of course, Evans can also break his own record for most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to begin a career. 54 yards on Sunday would give Evans eight straight years of 1k yards.
Don’t forget about the Bucs tight ends! On Sunday, Rob Gronkowski moved into a tie with Tony Gonzalez for the most 100-yard games by a tight end (31). In Week 18, Gronkowski can take the all-time lead if he manages 100 yards against the Panthers.
As for Cam Brate, he’s got a shot at some Bucs history too. With one touchdown catch, Brate can tie Jimmie Giles for second-place all-time in Bucs history, behind Evans of course. Considering Brate’s role, or lack thereof, over the past few years, that’s pretty crazy. Incredibly, Brate needs just two touchdowns to be tied for second-place amongst all tight ends in touchdown catches since 2016.
