The Bucs have re-signed starting running back Leonard Fournette and reserve Giovani Bernard this offseason. Fournette is making an average of $7 million per season, which shows how much the team values him. But with Ronald Jones II leaving in free agency, the Bucs need another back capable of carrying the load.
Tampa Bay needs to find a fourth running back to fill out its depth chart and have shown plenty of interest in several quality draft prospects. The latest of which is Arizona State running back Rachaad White, who is coming to Tampa Bay for a Top 30 visit on Wednesday. The Draft Network’s Justin Melo broke the news.
ASU RB Rachaad White recently had a Top 30 Visit with the #Browns. He'll travel to Tampa for a visit with the #Buccaneers on Wednesday.
White has met virtually w/ several teams, long list includes #Saints, #Bills, #Bengals, #Ravens and #Raiders.
LOVE White as a prospect.

The Bucs had a formal interview with White at the NFL Scouting Combine. He rushed for 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns while averaging 5.5 yards per carry in his junior year for the Sun Devils. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound White also caught 43 passes for 456 yards (10.1 avg.) and one TD. He ran a 4.48 in the 40-yard dash at the Combine.

White is the latest running back that the Bucs have shown interest in. The Bucs had a Top 30 visit with Texas A&M’s Isaiah Spiller and brought in Florida’s Dameon Pierce for a local visit. Tampa Bay also had a Zoom conference call with South Dakota State’s Pierre Strong. Every prospect that the Bucs are interested in has the ability to be a factor in the passing game. That’s one of White’s strong suits.
Last year, Fournette missed the last three games of the season and the first playoff game with a hamstring injury. That forced Ke’Shawn Vaughn into more playing time with mixed results. After rushing for 70 yards and a touchdown on seven carries at Carolina, Vaughn ran for just 113 yards on 35 carries (3.2 avg.) and two scores over the next three games.
The Bucs would like to add some competition for Vaughn for the right to be Fournette’s backup. Bernard is viewed as primarily a third-down back role player.
