Latest Bucs Headlines

According to multiple pre-game Internet reports, the Bucs got some good news regarding several of their injured players. Running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring), wide receivers Breshad Perriman (knee) and Russell Gage (hamstring) will all play against the Packers on Sunday. All three were listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report on Friday.

Bucs wide receiver Julio Jones has been battling a knee injury since Week 1 at Dallas and missed last week’s game. He’s a game-time decision today.

Whether or not Jones plays, the Bucs are expected to play practice squad wide receiver Cole Beasley, who was elevated to the game day roster on Friday. That’s because Tampa Bay will be without Mike Evans, who is suspended for the Packers game after fighting Marshon Lattimore in last week’s game.

The same could be said of Bucs left tackle Donovan Smith, who practiced last week on a limited basis with a hyper-extended elbow. Smith was listed as doubtful and Jones was listed as questionable on Friday.

Bucs TE Otton Out

In other news, tight end Cade Otton is out for the Packers game. Otton, a fourth-round draft pick, missed practice this week while grieving the passing of his mother, who had Parkinson’s Disease. Otton has primarily been a blocker for the Bucs offense and has been a key fixture on special teams.

The Bucs are expected to activate veteran Kyle Rudolph in his place. Rudolph has been inactive for the first two games of the season.
