Pewter Report has learned that starting cornerback Carlton Davis III will play for the Bucs in Sunday’s game against the Colts in Indianapolis. Davis has been dealing with a hip injury that knocked him out of the second half of Sunday’s 27-14 loss at San Francisco. He was limited in practice during the week and was listed as a game-time decision.

Davis will start opposite Zyon McCollum, who is expected to fill in for injured starting cornerback Jamel Dean, who suffered an ankle injury against the 49ers. Dean’s status is week-to-week. If Davis’ hip injury flares up during Sunday’s game at Indy, the Bucs are prepared to play either Josh Hayes or Keenan Isaac, both are rookie cornerbacks.

The Bucs will work out both starting inside linebacker Devin White and starting running back Rachaad White at the stadium during pre-game warmups and make a determination about whether either or both can play versus the Colts.

Devin White has been dealing with a foot injury for weeks and was limited in practice this week. With starting inside linebacker Lavonte David out with a groin injury, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles planned to platoon three-year veteran K.J. Britt and rookie SirVocea Dennis in his place.

But if White can’t go then Britt would replace White at Mike linebacker and Dennis would replace David at Mo linebacker. J.J. Russell would be the backup inside linebacker.

Rachaad White was a late addition to the injury report on Saturday where he was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. It is unclear when and how White injured his knee as he was not listed on the injury report during the week and did not miss any practice time. The Bucs typically have a walk-thru on Saturdays either at the team facility or at the opponent’s stadium.

ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that White was added to the injury report as a precaution.

If White can’t go Chase Edmonds and Ke’Shawn Vaughn are expected to shoulder the load. Yet it would be a blow to the Bucs’ ground game, which is already struggling, as well as the passing game, as White is Tampa Bay’s third-leading receiver.
