Adam Slivon has his Top 10 Takeaways video series on Pewter Report’s YouTube channel, PewterReportTV. These short videos on the Bucs – typically seven to nine minutes in length – offer Slivon’s unique takes on the most recent Tampa Bay game and throughout the entire Bucs’ offseason, backed by his expert insight and opinions.
Adam Slivon offers his Top 10 Takeaways after the Bucs beat the Falcons 16-0 on Sunday afternoon. Given the forecasted rain, it was expected to be a weird game, but it was the strangest game Slivon has ever seen. Tampa Bay ran the ball at a historic level, evidenced by setting a franchise record with 324 rushing yards. Running backs Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell ran right through Atlanta’s top five run defense from the start. Irving and Gainwell set career highs with 170 and 140 yards on the ground, respectively.

Zac Robinson has built the offense around running the football, but it was the most one-dimensional offense you’ll see in the modern NFL. Baker Mayfield failed to complete a single pass on three attempts. The Bucs’ passing game was non-existent, but they didn’t need it.
Slivon also details the defense’s latest dominant effort and shares why head coach Todd Bowles deserves credit. The run defense is one of the best at limiting running backs, the secondary has locked up wide receivers, and the pass rush is consistently affecting quarterbacks. Those themes continued as Tampa Bay shut down Michael Penix Jr., Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts. Penix threw four interceptions, two of which went to inside linebacker Alex Anzalone in the first quarter. Cornerbacks Zyon McCollum and Jacob Parrish joined Anzalone with picks, and Slivon believes McCollum deserves more attention for playing at an All-Pro level.

The Bucs have life, and they are riding high after two NFC South wins. The team still has some digging to do, but if they beat the Bears on Sunday night and get to 4-5, they could really change the narrative about their season.
