Coming into the weekend, the Bucs had three key players listed as questionable for Sunday’s Week 4 matchup with the 3-0 Eagles at Raymond James Stadium: quarterback Baker Mayfield (biceps), left tackle Tristan Wirfs (knee) and wide receiver Chris Godwin. The general consensus was that all three would be able to suit up and play against Philadelphia, and when the gameday inactives list dropped, that was confirmed.
Tampa Bay will have Mayfield, as expected. And it’ll also be boosted by the returns of Wirfs and Godwin, who will be making their 2025 season debuts. Wirfs had offseason knee surgery and has been working his way back in recent weeks. With his return in Week 4, it proved the Bucs wise to avoid placing him on injured reserve to start the season.

The same goes for Godwin, who suffered a season-ending injury in Week 7 of the 2024 season and hadn’t practiced all offseason. Tampa Bay elected not to place him on injured reserve either, which spoke to the team’s confidence in his ability to return before Week 5. Sure enough, he’s back for Week 4, and just in time, too, given the biggest inactive of the day for the Bucs.
That would be Mike Evans, who suffered a hamstring injury in last week’s win over the Jets. Reports this week were that he would miss the next few weeks at least, so his absence from the lineup on Sunday is no surprise. It just makes Godwin’s return all the more timely.
Joining Evans on the inactives list for Tampa Bay is running back Josh Williams, cornerback Kindle Vildor, safety Christian Izien and defensive lineman C.J. Brewer.

The other piece of good news for Tampa Bay is that defensive lineman Logan Hall is active and good to go for this battle of 3-0 teams. This is a team still without Calijah Kancey and Cody Mauch for the season, as well as Luke Goedeke for the next few weeks at least. Still, the returns of Wirfs and Godwin is a welcome sight for the Buccaneers as they look to start 4-0 for the first time in 20 years.
Eagles’ Gameday Inactives vs. Bucs
The Eagles aren’t as banged-up as the Bucs are entering Week 4, but they did place outside linebacker Nolan Smith on injured reserve this week. Despite that, Azeez Ojulari remains a healthy scratch for Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.
The other big name on the inactives list for the Eagles is that of cornerback Adoree’ Jackson. The struggling cornerback is out with a groin injury, and while he hasn’t gotten off to a great start in 2025, that leaves the Philly defense in a bit of a precarious situation. Jakorian Bennett is also on injured reserve, so with Jackson officially out, Kelee Ringo looks to be next in line to start.

As stacked as the Eagles defense is, their glaring issue early this season has been their CB2 position, with Jackson in particular drawing the ire of a lot of Philly fans. So, how Ringo is able to fill in will be a key subplot to watch in Sunday’s game.
