The Bucs announced two player signings on Tuesday. One was defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches, who Pewter Report first reported about and was discussed on the Pewter Report Podcast already. The other was wide receiver David Sills V, who comes into a talented wide receiver room with familiarity with offensive coordinator Zac Robinson having been together last season.

Bringing more size at 6’3 to the receiver room, but its unlikely he’ll crack into a depth chart that boasts Chris Godwin Jr, Emeka Egbuka, Jalen McMillan and Tez Johnson. He’ll likely be competing for one of the last receiver spots, but having played for Zac Robinson helps give him a leg up.
History Of New Bucs WR David Sills
Sills appeared in 33 career games, including 11 starts, between the New York Giants, Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons, totaling 31 receptions for 314 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Sills played in all 17 games for the Falcons in 2025, establishing career highs with 18 catches for 191 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
He had his most receiving yards in a game last season during the Bucs and Falcons Thursday night football matchup in Tampa. Sills made the infamous 20-yard catch on a 4th and 14 that kept Atlanta’s drive going to kick the eventual game winning field goal. That was an monumental choke by Tampa Bay as the end of their season spiraled

He originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buffalo Bills following the 2019 NFL Draft. The Wilmington, Delaware, native played three collegiate seasons at the University of West Virginia (2015, 2017-18), including a one-year stint with El Camino Community College (2016). With the Mountaineers, he appeared in 33 career games, making 26 starts, recording 132 receptions for 2,097 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns.
Sills also had a special teams role in Atlanta. That’s his best chance to make the active roster. He played on 19 special teams snaps during the season but played 10 in the last two games. Other wide receivers he’ll be competing with for a roster spot include Kameron Johnson, Dennis Houston and Garrett Greene, who also played at West Virginia but after Sills was already in the NFL and playing.

This doesn’t preclude the Bucs from drafting another wide receiver in April. It does help with depth for the team and he can help bring insight with Robinson’s system for this new offense.
