Coming back on the Pewter Report Podcast on Monday, May 11th, at 4 p.m. ET is recurring guest — Bucs cornerback Zyon McCollum.
We will talk with McCollum about his performance last season, the team’s new additions this year, and his expectations heading into what he hopes is a bounce-back season.

McCollum entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Bucs in 2022 after starring at Sam Houston State and impressing with elite athleticism. Initially a developmental player, McCollum spent much of his rookie season learning behind veteran cornerbacks Carlton Davis III and Jamel Dean. His role expanded in 2023 as he settled in and became a more reliable contributor in Todd Bowles’ secondary.
By 2024, he had emerged as a full-time starter and ascending defender. He delivered a solid season with strong coverage, numerous pass breakups, and increased confidence in man coverage. Tampa Bay rewarded McCollum with a three-year, $48 million contract extension before the 2025 season, solidifying him as a long-term piece of the defense and reflected the team’s belief in him. Heading into the 2026 season, McCollum is aiming to turn the corner and put together a big campaign as the top cornerback on the roster.
