Adam Slivon offers his Top 10 Takeaways after the Bucs beat the Cowboys 24-16 on Thursday.
Yes, Tampa Bay won a primetime game. How did they do it?
It started with the offense coming to life with a 24-point effort. Running back Bucky Irving had a career game with 165 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Jalon Daniels looked like a savvy veteran in his second NFL start. Daniels managed the game and made some key reads and throws when needed. It wasn’t perfect, but the operation looked the smoothest it has all season. The offensive line has to work on all the penalties, though.

Todd Bowles’ defense had just as many big moments. Yaya Diaby and Alex Anzalone had key interceptions off quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott struggled to find a rhythm as cornerbacks Zyon McCollum and Jacob Parrish locked up wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. It was Silence of the Lambs, with McCollum recording two pass breakups and limiting Lamb to just two catches for nine yards. Pickens had his moments, but Parrish had nine tackles and four pass breakups. Tampa Bay has its cornerback duo.
There were some blunders that Bowles must clean up. Chase McLaughlin’s 61-yard field goal that was nullified with a delay-of-game penalty and his decision to go for it on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line are just two of the latest miscues. Some will defend his late-game aggressiveness but just make it a three-score game with a chip-shot field goal. Heading into Week 6, the Bucs have a mini bye to rest, recover, and prepare for the Steelers. Can they build on the momentum they found in Dallas? Time will tell.
