PewterReportTV has launched a new regular video series called Bucs Cap Convo featuring Pewter Report’s salary cap expert Josh Queipo. These episodes – typically eight to 12 minutes in length – on Pewter Report’s YouTube channel PewterReportTV offer up Queipo’s insight and expert analysis on Buccaneers salary cap-related topics, such as contract extensions, salary cap cuts, player valuations, salary cap space and anything related to what general manager Jason Licht and assistant general manager Mike Greenberg are dealing with.
The Bucs took care of several veterans over the off-season. But the one player they did not extend was the one who can lay claim to the title “Best relative to my peers at my position”. While the merits of Baker Mayfield and Vita Vea’s place amongst their position groups are hotly debated topics, no one pushes back on the notion McLaughlin is a top five kicker in the NFL.
In this episode of Bucs Cap Convo, Scott Reynolds and Josh Queipo discuss the ways of measuring kicker value, balancing accuracy with distance, where McLaughlin ranks within those views and how the rising nature of the cap mean the Bucs top scorer is likely to get a big bag soon.
