A new head coach means new roles for some. When Bruce Arians was hired last January it wasn’t long before he envisioned third-year wide receiver Chris Godwin to take on a “Larry Fitzgerald-type role” with the Buccaneers, primarily playing in the slot.

Speaking on the Jim Rome show on Wednesday, Arians told the host he expects Godwin to see more single coverage this season as well.

This is going to be a fun offense to watch. Lets be honest!

And Godwin will be a lot better blocking on runs than Hump was and is faster too.

Our offense is fine. It has been. I am more concerned about the Defense. We are thin and weak at several positions and I am hoping that we get some answers in Camp and Pre-Season.

I wouldn’t say the offense is completely fine. I think RG and RB questions will be settled with a proper coaching staff and new simplified blocking scheme. But the tackle play has to hold up.

But I do agree that defense needs to seriously evaluated from the top and all the way down. I expect to see three new additions by the end of August. That is how much help this defense needs IMO.

The right side of the O line is my biggest concern on offense. I have serious doubts Dotson has a whole productive 16 games in him, and no one showed they could play RG last year. My only hope is this new staff can find some diamonds in the rough with some of the young guys, and coach them up. Guy’s like Liedke, Bailey, have to step up if Cappa fails. At least there will be competition, and with two practices going on someone has a chance to shine. Love the no music, and tackling will be part of training… Read more »

Godwin is the real deal and is going to have huge year.

Seat26 Wouldn’t agree and say this offense has been fine. They put up lots yards at times, but that means dick. They weren’t able to run the ball and that will not get you to playoffs period. They also need less O line penalties and more consistent run/pass blocking on the right side of the line to be “fine”on offense imo.
