It’s been an up-and-down season for the Chicago Bears, a trend that continued this week. On Tuesday, the Bears placed stud pass rusher Robert Quinn on the COVID list. Quinn is second on the team with 5.5 sacks, a number which is also tied for ninth in the NFL. The Bears travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Bucs on Sunday afternoon.

With just five days until the two teams’ meet, it’s unlikely Quinn will be cleared in time to play. The 31-year old would need two negative tests 24 hours apart, while being symptom free. Quinn has at least half-a-sack in all but one game this season, while amassing five tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble. If he can’t play, second-year player Trevis Gipson would likely start. Gipson has impressed with two sacks and a forced fumble in limited action this season.
The Bears have lost a few key players in recent weeks, including running back David Montgomery, guard Germain Ifedi and safety Deon Bush. Of course, the Bucs are dealing with their own rash of injuries, including three of their top cornerbacks who won’t play on Sunday. The status of linebacker Lavonte David and tight end Rob Gronkowski is also up in the air.
