The Line: Bucs -9.5 O/U 51
You don’t really need any of the stats to tell you a trend that each team has going into this week. The facts are that both teams are coming off a loss followed by the bye. The difference is that the Bucs are going places, so when they lose it stings even more. Tom Brady doesn’t lose twice in a row often, so does that mean he’ll cover the spread? I think an angry Tom is able to do it.
The Bucs haven’t done well against the spread on the road. I understand that. They actually haven’t even covered yet when they are away. This is different, though. This is Brady going scorched earth and the Washington Football Team is in his way. I don’t care that the Bucs are 1-4 in their last five against the spread in away games. It’s different now and everyone will see that. Washington’s offense, despite individually having great players, can’t stay with the Bucs. It would be better if Chris Godwin played, but the Bucs can still score a ton of points with Tyler Johnson and Jaelon Darden if he’s not in there.
We haven’t seen an angry Bucs team up to this point, but I think that’s exactly what we get this week.
The Pick: Bucs -9.5
Prop Bets:
Tom Brady Over 298.5 Passing Yards (-115)
A determined Brady is a player that is not to be trifled with. You’re taking a Bucs team that lost, had a bye, and playing against a team that probably gave them the toughest test in the playoffs last season. That doesn’t sit well with Brady. He’ll take his shots down the field as the offense dominates.
Tom Brady Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (+127)
Brady has thrown at least four touchdowns in three of his last four games. The Bucs have done a good job in the red zone and those who bet on Brady will be the beneficiary of it.
Leonard Fournette To Score A Touchdown (-125)
If you’re thinking that the Bucs will be in the red zone often like I am, then it’s a matter of time before Fournette gets a hand off at the goal line. He’s so involved in the offense that you know he’s going to get his hands on the football and make a play with it. Though he didn’t score in the last game, he scored in the three prior, so Lombardi Lenny reaches the goal line again this week.
Over 1.5 Field Goals (-156)
It’s kind of crazy to me that Ryan Succop hasn’t hit two or more field goals in a game this season besides the New England game in Week 4. He’s due for another outing like that and with how the Bucs can move the ball down the field, this is the week where he gets another chance again.
