On Friday, it was reported that Bucs star wide receiver Mike Evans missed practice due to feeling the effects of a flu that seems to be going around the locker room. Head coach Bruce Arians said that he still expected Evans to play on Sunday, and hoped that the illness wouldn’t spread.

Unfortunately it looks like it has, at least a little, as now starting middle linebacker Devin White has been added to the injury list for illness reasons, as well.

White is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s season opener against San Francisco. If White can’t go, Kevin Minter will likely start in White’s place as the middle linebacker in base defense, and Deone Bucannon would play next Lavonte David in nickel situations.

It’s my fault. I stated yesterday that this is the healthiest I’ve seen this team in years. I take full responsibility my fellow posters. It’s a Bucs life 🤷🏻‍♂️

Illness in the locker room sounds way too familiar.

It’s not even flu season! Wouldn’t they all have gotten flu shots? My wife teaches at a preschool. When something like the flu, or any strange bug goes around, the kids are the first to get sick. Nothing seems to be going around right now. No talk of the flu on the news yet, so what’s up with these Bucs? Grown men in peak condition shouldn’t be getting sick this time of year.

Tell that to my son & daughter in law who both work in restaurants (different ones) who got the flu in the past month two weeks apart. I doubt very seriously any pro player (except Baker or Watson) would ever hold out because of the flu. How many times over the years have we heard of players loosing their breakfast on the field following a hard hit or extra heat. IV’s before the game, on the sideline if needed, keep hydrated, etc. Leg cramps, etc., can be a different story as you don’t want pulled muscles, etc. Again, I’d take… Read more »

My wife before and me right after we went to the Steelers game, we both caught what the doctor said was a virus. Told us to just let it run its’ course. We both had the flu shot, wash our hands often and do most of the recommended things to keep from getting sick. I think it’s those people who get on the plane hacking and wheezing.

I stayed home from work one day to keep from spreading it.

Imagine telling Chuck Noll you weren’t playing bc you felt sick.

Toughen up butter cup, there’s only 16 games.

Hope it’s 24 hour bug. Crazy.

If you watch the film of Clevland Game, it is clear Devin White is not ready to start in an NFL game, wonder if that has something to do with an unknown illness!

Let’s not let any of this news take away from the fact that Antonio Brown pulled off the most masterminded plan I’ve ever witnessed. #itsapatriotslife tell me this wasn’t fixed.

well he could ve dictated where he want to land from the getgo.. he played out Raiders organization ! Not expected from arguably the best WR in the league! Very sad honestly!

Devin White is finding ways to be average. I am worried about this pick and Bunting too.

I’m wit’ you, drdneast. For the majority of commenters I will respond “Lighten up!” or “Take it easy, fans!”    We have never seen Devin White field direct an NFL defense in a real NFL game.  We have very little to go on to assess what the loss of White might represent.  After he has been out there for six or eight  consecutive games and then he has to miss one, only then will we be able to judge. I’m sure we can win this one with Minter in the role.  Now if Minter should go down during this game… Read more »

Calm down chicken little. The sky isn’t falling. People get sick. Evans was out sick the day before, but he’s fine now.

It’s just amazing to me how folks are so quick to judge (typically harshly) before a player has even played one play. White barely even played in the four preseason games, Miller played in but a few, Murphy-Bunting seems to be thinking too much and finding his way like some guy named Barber and another named Lynch.
