Rookie mini-camp is a relative return to normalcy this offseason after the program was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One significant change to rookie mini-camp in 2021 however is the number of tryout players that are permitted to attend. In previous years some teams would invite dozens of players to attend on tryout contracts, often putting rookie mini-camp attendance at over 50 players. This year however the NFL has limited that number to just five.
Tight end Jerrell Adams, wide receiver Amara Darboh, running back Troymaine Pope, cornerback Antonio Hamilton and safety Curtis Riley will be the Bucs’ five players joining on tryout contracts.
All five of the Bucs’ tryout additions come with prior NFL experience, as opposed to Tampa Bay signing additional undrafted free agents.
