The Bucs announced on Tuesday that Tony Castricone will be the team’s new radio play-by-play announcer. It’s a new voice in Tampa Bay following the retirement of legendary radio broadcaster Gene Deckerhoff, who spent the last 37 years calling Bucs games.
Castricone has years of experience as a broadcaster. He most recently spent nine seasons as Director of Broadcasting and the radio voice of University of Washington football and men’s basketball. That means he called highlight moments for current Bucs and former Huskies Vita Vea, Cade Otton and Jalen McMillan.

He previously served as the voice of Clemson men’s basketball and held several broadcasting and content leadership positions with IMG College. During his career, he has called championship-caliber teams, major postseason events and some of college athletics’ most memorable moments, including Washington’s run to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game following the 2023 season.
Castricone Comments On Becoming The Voice Of The Bucs
Castricone will join former Bucs tight end and long time analyst Dave Moore for the upcoming 2026 campaign. Moore is entering his 20th season. With his role as the lead voice of the Buccaneers Radio Network, Castricone will call all preseason, regular season and postseason games. He will also contribute across team-produced programming, digital content, organizational events and fan engagement initiatives throughout the year.

“It’s the honor of a lifetime to be entrusted with this extremely rare opportunity and this one-of-a-kind role within this fantastic franchise,” Castricone said. “I’d like to thank the Glazer family and everyone I met with during the interview process for their confidence in my abilities and for allowing me to live out this dream. I’d also like to congratulate Gene Deckerhoff on an iconic 37-year run. There will never be another Gene, and I’ll miss hearing his larger-than-life voice on game days. The thought of following in his legendary footsteps is humbling and exhilarating. My family and I cannot wait to be Buccaneers, to be Floridians and to meet as many members of the Krewe as possible.”
