Being without Evans stings, but the Saints will be without Davenport and Ruiz.

Is it Sunday yet??

I’ve got my popcorn ready!!

This hamstring thing can linger. Hope not.
Lattimore owned Evans last year, but I’m hoping for a 48 hour miracle.

Do you actually remember that from the game film. In 2018 Evans caught 11 of 13 targets in the 2 games for 231 yards against the Saints. Maybe you remember the snaps in that 1st game of 2019 and saw that Lattimore shut him down for no catches or maybe it was the Saints adapting to putting a second guy into Evans coverage routes that 1st game. But you may actually remember – I do not. To be honest, I really do not ever remember anytime that I have ever watched a Bucs game with Evans that I just looked… Read more »

Well if we’re worried about how Wirfs will fair against Jordan, I guess the Saints fans are worried how their back up center will do against Vea, Suh, and Nacho.

But are they?

yes, they are because the best way to rattle brees is with pressure up the middle. Havent you learned this by now?

Every team has injuries. It’s how that depth steps up and into the role for that game. Media has mentioned Saints D against Bucs OLine, but I’m sure the Bucs D has the attention of the Saints OLine. JPP, Shaq, Vea, and then LBs White and David… I bet Bucs DBs get a couple of chances too! Let’s do this.

Pathetic 3rd string backup Jameis Winston put up 1400+ yards without Evans for the last 4 games last year. He was also without Godwin for the last 3 and put up 1200+. He did it with a broken thumb on his throwing hand.

Tom tweeted it best – #NoExcuses. Tom Brady has better RBs, better TEs, better K, and a much better defense. Plus he is the greatest of all time!!

LIne em up and play the game! There aren’t even going to be fans in the Superdome which is another Brady advantage.

16-0! SuperBowl or Bust!

BS from BS. Pathetic is hardly a term I would use to refer to Winston. To me frustrating sums him up best. There is no denying his strong arm and passing ability and while that served him well in college he has proven it takes a lot more than that to be a successful quarterback in the NFL. He lacks that sixth sense to know when to get rid of the ball, was to slow making his reads and just took to many damn chances. His problem was between the ears not his arm. I don’t get you BS. Quite… Read more »

Evans started the Colts game and had a 60 yard TD. And Godwin also played the Colts game and the next game versus Detroit. Winston only played 2 games without both Evans and Godwin. And in those 2 games, Winston completed 38-72 passes(52.7%) for 536 yards 3 TD’s vs 6 picks, and a 61 QB Rating, to go along with 2 pick sixes. So let’s not cherry pick stats and make it seem like Jameis played even remotely decent without Evans and Godwin. Because he didn’t. He was downright putrid. Brady could have done better. You know how I know?… Read more »

Easy Dave, you’re making sense. Sombrero doesn’t understand those kinds of things. The only thing he brings to this site anymore is negativity and obvious condescending tones with his “ill have the popcorn ready” crap

That was one of the biggest problems with Winston. He did great when He had his favorite targets but connecting with guys outside who he was most comfortable with was foreign to him. I would bet Brady can make things happen a lot more than Winston when someone like Evans is out.

Watson and Miller are going to see some playing time obviously. Who will be 3rd? IF Davenport is out, Smith should have an easier time.

Missing Evans would really suck, but I can honestly say that I trust our depth fill-ins at WR for him (a combination of Scotty and Watson, likely depending on where the guy is lining up for that play) more than I would trust Ruiz’s and Davenport’s backups if I was New Orleans. That doesn’t mean losing Mike wouldn’t hurt, but if this offense can’t withstand the loss of one of the many high level weapons it features, even the single most important of those, then we’re a lot worse off than we ever thought we’d be this year anyways. Need… Read more »

In all honesty, in a game without Evans is where you’re really going to see the monster difference between Brady and Jameis. Yeah sure, it’s not a complete apples to apples comparison. But losing arguably the best pass catcher a QB has, is typically a devastating blow to 75% of the QB’s in the NFL. Especially to a QB on a new team, at age 43, with no preseason games, and very little familiarity with his WR’s. Yet I still have complete 100% confidence he’ll be fine. Brady has never been a lock onto his #1 guy type of QB… Read more »
