We thought the Buccaneers were done with their roster moves.

They were not.

On Monday, it was announced the team claimed former Browns third round pick Carl Nassib off waivers.

The team will be releasing defensive end Will Clarke to make room for Nassib on the roster.

Nassib?

Nice. Buckner is reshaping the trenches for the better.

damn, I should have posted that I had noted Carl Nassib; i just wasn’t sure if he’s really all that much better than Will Clarke.

Nice pick up. He’ll likely be better than Gholston and Clarke.

Shocked that the Browns let him go, I like it.

Good move. With all this talent on the DL, hard to believe we won’t be improved.

Looks like he is replacing Clark, I believe Nassib took Clark’s roster spot.

I suppose that it’s Clarke not Clark.

I’m impressed with his 9 passes knocked down in two years. Did we even have 9 as a team?

Not many sacks though…

He’s definitely worth a shot, Nassib has been more productive than Noah Spence in every category outside of the 5.5<6.5 sack edge. Given that Nassib is a much bigger and slower lineman than the undersized Spence that would be expected.

A player with a good motor. Great rotation player who is good against the run.

Surprised it was Clarke cut and not Spence since he is one dimensional.

Gotta believe they are shopping Spence to 3-4 teams to try to get something for him.

Unless there’s someone better out there likely won’t release him.

Could be, but to me its six of one, half dozen of the other. Just don’t think any of or DE’s are going to scare anyone. Didn’t see anything form JPP of Vinny Curry during preseason, and yeah, I get that it was preseason.

What we know from years of Drew Brees chewing us up is that if you hit him, knock him down, sack him, we have a chance to win. We’re 9.5 point underdogs this weekend so let’s see what these guys do,

Mike Mayock said when Nassib graduated from Penn ST. and was drafted by Cleveland based on his Sr. year that he had all the potential of J.J. Watt. 15.5 sacks,(school record), 19 TFL. He was 2 yr starter for Browns. A lot of Cleveland Fans are scratching their heads

Only 5.5 sacks in those 2 years?? Not even close to JJ Watt for 1 year.

I really like this pick. This kid has a lot of experience rushing the passer. I think he led the nation in sacks as a senior while at Penn State. He’s also VERY tall. Good depth.

A hurried look around the Internet leads me to a couple of quick impressions. Licht and staff had Carl Nassib on their draft board in 2016 and they have been tracking him ever since. So, they pounced when the circumstances were right. He is of comparable size to Will Clarke but is a bit younger. Bucs must think he still still has an upside whereas Clarke has demonstrably maxed out his talents during his time with us. The “stardom” Nassib attained his summer from his exposure due to Hard Knocks was not the deciding factor for the Bucs. This is… Read more »

I’m sure Cleveland let him go figuring he didn’t fit their system; likewise, the Bucs picked him up figuring he wasn’t a good fit in Cleveland.

With all our DT hurt it looks as if they move Gholston inside an picked up Nassib to play DE love his motor an we actually have some DEs that Buck can work with JPP Curry Spence Nassib an we have some DT depth as well I like the Worthy pick up Gerald Gholston Vea when healthy

wasn’t Nassib a PR “best bet” for the 2016 draft?

Absolutely great pick up, love the move. I really liked him coming out of Penn State. I love our D line for this year.

Let’s hope we can get at least 10 percent back on this investment.

Makes me wonder why he was waived if he’s starter material? Hope we didn’t get another hurt player. That seems to happen to us a lot.

They must see something in Spence in practice that makes them think he’s worth keeping. I sure don’t see it game day in pre season this year.

Quit evaluating players based on preseason. These games are glorified practices. Teams hide their schemes and shoot blanks not real bullets.

Great pick up. It’s clear that Clarke has been cut. Nassib is an upgrade

Love it!

Not sure how good Nassib will be, but Clark wasn’t worth the roster spot. Give this guy a shot, maybe he can produce.
