Adam Slivon offers his Top 10 Takeaways after the Bucs lost 26-19 to the Steelers on Sunday afternoon. Tampa Bay found yet another way to lose as they fell in overtime. The team collapsed in the fourth quarter after holding a 16-3 lead. Despite the defense’s best effort, Slivon reacts to how the inept offense brought the rest of the ship down.

Zac Robinson once again failed to put together an offensive game plan that could get the unit into any sort of rhythm. Look no further than the fourth quarter, when the offense gained 32 yards on four drives. Robinson doesn’t seem to know how to use his playmakers. Despite peppering Emeka Egbuka with 16 targets, he had just seven catches for 48 yards and a touchdown. Chris Godwin Jr. had four catches for 37 yards. His decision to utilize short passes doesn’t work.
Jalon Daniels kept the team in it by limiting mistakes until throwing two late-game interceptions. It’s hard to imagine many quarterbacks thriving in this system, but his play was disappointing down the stretch. It didn’t help that there wasn’t a run game to lean on like the previous week.
Defensively, the group played inspired football but ran out of gas. They kept Aaron Rodgers off balance by applying heavy pressure and recording a season-high five sacks. Also, Slivon continues to remind everyone about David Walker. Walker balled out with two sacks, while Keionte Scott and Rueben Bain Jr. swept through for a brief hurricane, recording their first NFL sacks on the same drive. Who doesn’t love a big-man interception?! A’Shawn Robinson had another pick, but all of this still wasn’t enough.

Rodgers found wiggle room on short passes against soft coverage, allowing him to guide the offense downfield. His connection with wide receivers Germie Bernard and DK Metcalf couldn’t be stopped, no matter how hard cornerbacks Zyon McCollum or Jacob Parrish tried.
All of this drives home how defeating this loss feels. A win felt possible, even likely. That would have opened a conversation about the team’s ability to climb back, but to Slivon, that time is over. At 1-5, that discussion feels forced. Of course, the Bucs play in the NFC South. Does that really matter, though?
