The Bucs are finished with roster cuts – for a day or two at least. Tampa Bay trimmed its roster down to 53 players by making the following cuts within the last 48 hours:
QB Ryan Griffin
RB C.J. Prosise
WR Jaydon Mickens
WR Cyril Grayson, Jr.
WR Travis Jonsen
TE Tanner Hudson
TE Codey McElroy
TE Jerell Adams
OT Brad Seaton (waived injured)
OT Jake Benzinger
OL Brandon Walton
OL Jonathan Hubbard
DT Jeremiah Ledbetter
DT Benning Potoa’e
DT Kobe Smith
ILB Joe Jones
OLB LaDarius Hamilton
OLB Elijah Ponder
CB Antonio Hamilton
CB Herb Miller
CB Chris Wilcox
S Javon Hagan
Because there are four members of team that are currently on the COVID-19 list – defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, kicker Ryan Succop and offensive linemen Nick Leverett and Earl Watford – the Bucs will have to cut four more players this week when they return to action on Thursday. Watford is expected to be released, so three other Tampa Bay players will need to be waived.
The group of players on that bubble includes ILB Grant Stuard, S Chris Cooper, G John Molchon, OL Nick Leverett and K Jose Borregales. The release of Borregales is all but assured as Tampa Bay will only have one kicker on the roster. Borregales is a candidate for the practice squad unless he gets picked up elsewhere.
Bucs second-year OLB Cam Gill is expected to start the season on injured reserve, while fourth-year WR Justin Watson is expected to start the year on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list.
