Starting right tackle Demar Dotson was selected as the Bucs’ recipient for the Ed Block Courage Award on Thursday, as voted on by his teammates.

The Ed Block Courage Award, which is in its 41st year of the award, is presented to players who are role models of inspiration, sportsmanship and courage. Dotson along with the recipients from the other 31 NFL teams will be honored at the 41st Ed Block Courage Awards in Baltimore on March 28th.

Dotson has played for the Bucs for all 11 seasons of his NFL career and has battled through injury this season to start 13 of 14 games.

The Bucs’ starting right tackle has been very active in the community during his time in Tampa Bay. Dotson helps sponsor the “Turkey Trot Time With The O-Line” during the Thanksgiving season as the Bucs’ offensive linemen hand out turkey. Dotson also sponsors a program called “Dotson’s Do-Gooders” in which he provides a game day experience for children who would not normally have a chance to watch a Bucs’ game in attendance at Raymond James Stadium.
