It’s becoming an annual tradition for the Bucs to hold joint practices with one of their preseason opponents.

That practice will continue this summer as Tampa Bay will hold two joint practices with their in-state rivals Miami and Jacksonville.

Pewter Report has confirmed that the team will play both the Dolphins and the Jaguars in the 2024 preseason with one game at home and one game on the road. Tampa Bay will hold joint practices with those teams during the second and third weeks of the preseason.

Tampa Bay travels to Jacksonville for a game on Saturday, August 17 and then concludes the preseason against Miami on Friday, August 23.

Holding joint practices with preseason opponents is something that the team has done dating way back to the Tony Dungy era when Tampa Bay would hold joint camp practices against in-state rivals Jacksonville and Miami back in the 1990s.

Former head coach Greg Schiano, a close friend of former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, had Tampa Bay host Tom Brady and his New England teammates for a joint practice prior to a preseason game in 2013.

The practice was revived under the Bruce Arians and has continued into the Todd Bowles regime. The team had joint practices against Miami in Tampa Bay in the summer of 2021 and then traveled to Tennessee to have joint practices with the Titans in 2022 after having joint practices with Miami a week earlier.

Last summer the team traveled to New Jersey to hold joint practices with the Jets.
