The Bucs announced on Saturday that they have promoted safety Javon Hagan and offensive guard Ted Larsen from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of their NFC Championship match-up with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

With no players on the league’s reserve/COVID-19 list for Tampa Bay, Hagan and Larsen fill the two eligible promotion spots for this week. Hagan’s promotion could potentially provide depth at a safety position that was shaken when an ankle injury took rookie Antoine Winfield Jr. from a full participant in practice on Thursday to a non-participant on Friday, leaving him questionable for Sunday’s contest. Larsen will serve as a backup interior offensive lineman after initially filling in for right guard Alex Cappa following his broken ankle against Washington, with Aaron Stinnie set to make his second career start.

Not optimistic about Winfield at all.
Hate to see this.
Hopefully they miss Kevin King and it kinda equals out.
Gotta create turnovers or be way better in the Redzone to win both offensively and defensively.
Look at the Packers numbers.
Like 72% TDs in the redzone.
Both teams will move the ball.

Hey Jon had a stat on Edwards INT rate per down played and it was pretty impressive. In a game that may be won or lost on the ground it is preferable to have Winfield Jr in there, I mean it’s preferable any time, but Edwards is in his 2nd year and would have been starting in Winfield Jr wasn’t such a bad a**. Having Whitehead in the box and Edwards in coverage may even be exactly what we need. Hopefully Winfield makes it out if he’s not hindered but either way they are two capable players.

I’m just still impressed we aren’t even talking about Stinnie, meaning his performance last week must have been so good there wasn’t anything to pick apart and question. That is some of the best news yet.

P.S. The Weather App shows the snow in Green Bay being from Midnight-9 am and clear the rest of the day! That should be great news!

Also it will be 28 degrees during the game with the sun coming out by 4pm! The weather and temperature shouldn’t be any different than during the Washington game! The field should be covered during the snow and it shouldn’t be a factor at all by game time! At least it should be an honest constest and not some injury prone slopfest!

Oh dude, Winfield is Amazing, he is part of the future of this Defense along with White. Vea, Davis, Winfield, White, Bunting and Dean and Edwards even. Pash rusher is the one spot that we need to build for the future. But Winfield is 100% necessary for this Defense to operate on all cylinders. Just hoping that if he can’t go, Edwards can cover for him and hopefully contribute in a turnover or two.
