Look for the Pewter Nation Podcast each week on PewterReport.com for your listening pleasure during the 2019 season.

You may have heard this before but the Bucs Beat the Bucs…again. Following the Bucs 27-23 loss to the Tennessee Titans, the group at Pewter Report got together to break down what was a third straight Tampa Bay Bucs loss.

Jameis Winston threw another two interceptions on Sunday, and while a heated Bruce Arians said after the game that they were both completely on the wide receivers, we don’t necessarily believe that. Something always seems to go wrong with Jameis Winston, and the Bucs continue to have bad season after bad season. They could be looking at new quarterback come draft season.

With a 2-5 record now, how much will the Bucs be sellers at the trade deadline. They have some players they could get a return in value for but the question of trading someone like Jason Pierre-Paul or even a Lavonte David is becoming more of a serious one. In a hypothetical situation we break down what cap room space the Bucs could have and what additions they could make down the road, from players all the way to upper level management. Stay tuned for a real fired up episode.

  1. As Bruce Arian’s wife said about coaches telling owners about themselves in interviews “they tell them what they want to hear.”

  3. Either the wr’s are not where they are suppose to be, and it’s the coaches fault; or, Jamies Winston can’t tell his wr’s haven’t run the right route; so, why throw the football? And, so it’s Winston who needs to go.

  4. All this Winston/Wr’s out of position talk seems to have overshadowed how well the D played . . . except in the redzone. How come this D falls apart in the redzone? They stuff the run all day . . . but open like Moses in the Red Sea in the redzone. Then, the redzone is suppose to help the secondary; but, they can’t cover in the redzone.

  5. Bruce’s apologies are lame af, on his first INT, James overthrew Chris Godwin by like 5 or 6 ft over his head. Chris clearly identified the coverage and found the soft spot in the zone. And although Perriman is absolute garbage as well, there were three titan players in the area. Once again, he also took too many sacks from holding onto the ball.

I am in favor of revamping the offensive line through the draft and free agency with Williams, Scherff, early round pick. Even if they can’t lure Luck out of retirement, this should be the strategy and draft a QB maybe later in the draft, 3rd or 4th round.

The situation with Licht, Arians and Winston sucks….cause both Licht and Winston need to go. But what probably is gonna happen, at least Winston will be gone, but Licht will stay to keep Arians. And for sucks sake, we’ll be stuck with his crappy drafting for at least another year. Donovan Smith sucks. Winston sucks, half the defense he drafted sucks. They need to fortify the OL and DL, get more pressure up front. All hope seems to be lost for the next few years sadly guys.

  8. Winston didn’t play real good or real bad imo. He threw some balls away and had some nice runs. Some Nice throws. He isn’t the biggest problem with this team overall or the biggest issue against titans though imo.

O line snaps ball before QB is ready fumble and backbreaking turnover at 10 yard line. Gave them easy 7 gift.

First int. Godwin stopped and should have. The ball was tipped also go back and watch it slow mo if you doubt that. Not making excuses just stating facts.

O line has false starts Several times and backed us up, and gave up stupid sacks. Could run ball and get 1 yard with 6 guys in box.

Secondary still is sucking bad and not one CB worth shit. Every red one trip by titans was a TD.

Refs blew whistle and play dead and negate a TD that would have won us game.

All this and more but you all think it’s all Jameis and if we had different QB outcome Would be a win? Hilarious.

Fix O line. Fix secondary. Make decision on Winston after 9 more games.

That’s the biggest issues in order.

  10. Arians biggest sin wasn’t not Calling plays. It wasn’t thinking Winston could be fixed year one.

His biggest mistake was thinking this O line could be even average. They did nothing to address it. Not sure if that was on Licht or Arians more but it was stupid. He has them running ball little better than last year. Other than that it’s been horrible. Yes have injuries but look around nfl most teams do at o line and still find ways to win. We have no depth there and Dotson should been gone two years ago or been a backup.

  11. Why is Leftwich still calling plays? That 4th down call was rediculous! Everyone on earth knew we were running up the gut yet we couldn’t have a blocker for the running back to gain that yard!? What are we doing?!
