In this week’s episode of the Bucs Pewter Nation Podcast, Scott Reynolds, Mark Cook and Trevor Sikkema reflect on Tony Dungy’s press conference, as he will go into the Bucs Ring of Honor. And what better way to talk about Dungy than bring in a man who played for him: Ian Beckles. Beckles and the gang share old Dungy stories and then get into some predictions for this year’s Bucs team.

  1. The NFL draft, and the coaching of players, is often fascinating. Fascinating to see who can see what in what people.

  2. Pretty clear Ian Beckles thinks the Bucs are going to be awful this year.

“they are not going win with a backup QB….they are not going to beat Atlanta or Carolina on the road”

Hopefully he’s not invited to give any inspirational speeches to the team.

  3. That was a fantastic podcast. Even if you don’t agree with Ian on everything, he pulls no punches and he’s being totally honest. Love his comments from the Dungy era. He is wrong however. If we go 1-2 To start the season, we are in good shape especially if Fitzpatrick plays well. We also have split with a New Orleans the past three seasons And we were a field goal away from beating Carolina not to mention a fourth-down measurement that I’m still not sure how we didn’t stop them. We can win at New Orleans or Carolina. We can also meet Atlanta.

That’s the thing I would love to hear the pewter report staff say that makes this season so hard to predict. We can beat anybody. We can also lose to anybody. We just don’t know! We frankly have a good football team. We’re also the Buccaneers and we know our past

  4. And it was against Green Bay Where we threw the pass to warren Sapp to get intercepted in the endzone in 1995. Even as we ended up winning that game, I remember Dave Moore going up to Trent Dilfer and saying “that was a dumbass call” on national television

By the way, it was Green Bay when Trent Dilfer was asked to throw away Pastor Warren Sapp on the 3 yard line in 1995 and it got intercepted. I still remember that even as we won that game, Dave Moore goes up on national television to Trent Dilfer and says “that was a dumbass call.”
