Bucs Practice Buzz is a weekly segment on Pewter Report’s YouTube channel Pewter Report TV where we highlight the biggest moments and clips from the day of practice from the Advent Health Training Center.

Rookie outside linebacker Rueben Bain Jr. hasn’t met expectations as of yet with injuries slowing him down and costing him two games. Bain has yet to record a sack for the Bucs or make some kind of impact play. With that said, Bain is trending in the right direction. His outside linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator Larry Foote spoke out about that Bain played his best game of the season last week, and he looks more fresh as he’s recovered from his shoulder and groin problems.

Tampa Bay desperately needs to get the pass rush going to match it with how well the secondary is playing. Getting Bain up to speed and contributing to a pass rush that hasn’t recorded a sack in their last two games would be huge for Tampa Bay’s defense that has played much better.

The Bucs are still trying to find what their identity is on the offensive side of the football, but that’s hard to do when they have an offensive line that’s committed so many penalties. They’re blocking well up front, which led to a sensational performance from Bucky Irving, but it’s come down to just not making the silly mistakes.

Pewter Report recapped much more from practice, which included why inside linebackers Alex Anzalone and Joisah Trotter are perfect for each other and what Tampa Bay can get out of quarterback Jalon Daniels in his third start of the season.
