Something has to give when the 1-4 Bucs host the 3-2 Steelers this Sunday in a Week 6 contest at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

On the one hand, Tampa Bay is 0-3 at home this season and hasn’t won back-to-back games since this time last year. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh hasn’t won on the road in 2026 (0-2) and has yet to win back-to-back games this season as well, having gone win-loss-win-loss-win over its first five games.

Again, something has to give when the two sides match up Sunday afternoon.

The Bucs, even with their 0-4 start, aren’t dead yet in the NFC South race. They trail the division-leading Panthers by a game and a half heading into Week 6, and they haven’t played a divisional game yet. There’s even a scenario where Tampa Bay beats Pittsburgh Sunday and Carolina loses to Philadelphia (granted, Philly will be without Jalen Hurts), and that would set up a first-place contest next week in Charlotte between Todd Bowles’ and Dave Canales’ teams. It does depend on what the Falcons (2-3) and Saints (1-4) do in Week 6, too, but still… What a division.

First things first, the Bucs have to win Sunday, stringing a second in a row after their Week 5 primetime win over the Cowboys. Anything beyond that – including a potential Baker Mayfield return in Week 7 – is a discussion for Monday.

With all that said, there will also be some Bucs milestones and records on the line at Raymond James Stadium this weekend, and that’s the reason we’re here right now.

Last week, Jalon Daniels made quite a bit of history in the Bucs’ win over the Cowboys. The Bucs also had their longest offensive drive in duration since 2007, using up 10:58 to score their first touchdown of the night. Bucky Irving had a huge game as well, surpassing the 2,000-yard rushing mark for his career and becoming the 13th player in Bucs history to do so. He did it in the fourth-fewest games (32) of any Buc, behind only Doug Martin (25), Cadillac Williams (29) and Errict Rhett (29).

Plus, Todd Bowles earned his 37th win as Tampa Bay’s head coach (regular season + playoffs), moving him ahead of Bruce Arians (36) for the fourth-most by a head coach in team history. Jason Licht also earned his 100th win as the team’s general manager. He’s the first general manager to achieve that milestone in franchise history.

Now, let’s see where things stand heading into Week 6.

Bucs Record Watch: Week 6 vs. Steelers

Jalon Daniels

If Daniels leads the Bucs to a win over the Steelers, he would become the first undrafted rookie quarterback since Warren Moon (1984) and the third ever to beat the Steelers as a starter.

A Tampa Bay win would also make Daniels the first undrafted rookie quarterback in the Super Bowl era to win consecutive starts.

Bucky Irving

Irving is eight receptions away from reaching 100 for his career.

With 150 rushing yards against Pittsburgh, Irving would be the first player in franchise history with consecutive 100-yard rushing performances and the first in the NFL to accomplish that feat since Rico Dowdle (then with the Panthers, now with the Steelers) in October of last year.

Another 150-yard, two-touchdown game would make Irving the first player to hit those marks in consecutive games since Derrick Henry did it back in 2024.

Chris Godwin Jr.

Godwin is 103 scrimmage yards away from eclipsing 8,000 in his career. He would join Mike Evans (13,062) and James Wilder (9,449) as the only players in Bucs history to surpass that mark with the team.

Godwin remains four touchdowns away from passing James Wilder (46) for the third-most touchdowns from scrimmage in team history.

With nine more points, Godwin will also pass Wilder (276) for the 10th-most in Bucs history.

Sunday will mark Godwin’s 126th game with Tampa Bay, tying him with Cameron Brate for the 16th-most in franchise history.

Cade Otton

Otton remains one receiving touchdown away from moving ahead of Calvin Magee and Alex Smith (11) for the seventh-most by a tight end in Bucs history and pulling into a tie for the sixth-most.

Vita Vea

Vea is still 4.5 sacks away from passing David Logan (39.0) for the seventh-most in team history.

Sunday is set to be Vea’s 118th game with the Bucs, tying him with Randy Grimes for the 25th-most in franchise history.

Anthony Nelson

Nelson is about to play his 113th game with Tampa Bay, tying him with Mark Cotney and James Wilder for the 29th-most in team history.

Josiah Trotter

With five tackles against the Steelers, Trotter will pass Lavonte David (41 in 2012) and Kendell Beckwith (41 in 2017) for the most by a Buccaneer through five career games (since at least 2000, anyway).

Trotter is 13 tackles away from passing Jerrell Freeman (49 in 2012) and Devin Lloyd (49 in 2022) for the fourth-most by a player through five career games since at least 2000. He needs 14 more to pass Patrick Willis (50 in 2007) for the third-most.

Zyon McCollum

McCollum needs just three passes defensed to pass Brent Grimes (41) for the 10th-most in team history and tie John Lynch (42) for the ninth-most.

Chase McLaughlin

McLaughlin is 14 field goals away from passing Connor Barth (114) for the third-most in Bucs history.

With one more point, McLaughlin will pass Mike Alstott (492) for the fifth-most in team history.

McLaughlin needs one more field goal from 50+ yards out to pass Graham Gano (46) for the 10th-most field goals of 50+ yards in NFL history. With four more, he’ll pass Greg Zuerlein (49) for the ninth-most all-time.
