With Bucs long snapper Zach Triner on the COVID-19 list, Tampa Bay signed Garrison Sanborn to the practice squad. Sanborn, a Tampa native, who went to Jesuit High School, is back for his third stint with the Bucs.
He spent time on the Bucs’ practice squad last year from Week 15 through Super Bowl LV. He previously played in all 32 games for Tampa Bay from 2017-18.
Sanborn spent his first eight seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2009-2016) before signing with Tampa Bay (2017-18) and San Francisco (2019). Since entering the league as a college free agent out of Florida State in 2009, he has appeared in 163 career games, recording 32 special teams tackles.
The Bucs are hopeful that Triner can come off the COVID list with a negative test later this week and play in Sunday’s game against the Bills.
