With rookies Scotty Miller and DaMarkus Lodge on and off the field due to injury, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announce they’ve signed former Missouri WR Emanuel Hall, who was waived by the Chicago Bears.

To make room for Hall, the team announced they have waived safety Micah Abernathy.

  1. looks like Scotty Miller might end up on practice squad.. but yet why not use the roster spot for offensive linemen instead??

    • I would guess the Buc’s staff watches the waiver wire like hawks and when the right offensive lineman is waived by another team, they will be all over it. I don’t believe this coaching staff misses much…have a little faith DC.

  2. That is an overt message to Scott Miller. Get better fast.
I’m nor crazy about it either.. If the guy has a legit injury, get off his back. Coming back to soon will only aggravate the injury worse.

  3. Just needing a body for preseason games is all. Miller is fine but we need a body especially with Mitchell getting hurt last week. Miller IMO has shown what he is capable of, he’s a roster lock to me.

  4. More competition the better. I am not sure Miller is a lock because the competition is that stiff. But I do agree with the sentiment that outside of Perriman that Miller is the only other true speedster.

  6. I think the depth for OL is coming with the cut downs since the Bucs are high on the waiver wire list.

  7. How has Miller shown he’s a lock to make the team cville, we haven’t even seen him play! We know he’s fast from his 40 time, but is he football fast? Can he run good routes, catch the ball when it counts, take a hit? Hard to really tell since he’s standing on the sideline for just about all of camp. How some of you fall in love with a 6th round pick who’s shown us NOTHING so far is beyond me.

    • He only missed a few practice sessions leading up to the Steelers game and the game itself. In the practices I attended he really caught my eye as did Schnell, who no one was talking about. Apparently you haven’t been able to attend any Training Camp practices. Miller is a faster version of Adam Humphries who catches the ball well. Schnell is not as fast, but is very smooth and is a hands catcher.

Both are better than the days we searched over and over again for a descent WR.

  8. ADW…Miller is faster…but Schnell is quicker…shiftier. As Arians said, Schnell’s small frame/stature is his biggest liability.

  9. mark2001, yea, that small frame and size was a real liability for the Hump and Julian Edelman when it came time to perform on the field and when it came time to go to the bank.

  11. Evans, Godwin, OJ, Brate, and Perriman are healthy. These new guys are good developmental projects. I think the Bucs expect very little from any of them. Welcome aboard and good luck to the new guy.

    Go Bucs

  12. If Miller isn’t healthy for any pre season game don’t be surprised if Emmanuel Hall makes a push to stick. The WR competition is that intense. But like the safety position the WR position may come down to who is healthy in the end.

  13. Too funny, was watching replay of Bears v. Panthers and this guy Hall is fast. Burned the Panthers D and kept having to wait on the ball, legit 4.3 guy. New regime loves speed! He went undrafted and the announcers kept asking why and that he was a steal. Will be interesting.
