The Bucs inactives list for Week 6 features very little in the way of surprises. The team announced on their Friday injury report that both quarterback Baker Mayfield and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. were out, as each is dealing with a multi-week injury (Mayfield a thumb and Winfield a rib).
To ensure Jalon Daniels has a backup with Mayfield out, the team elevated Easton Stick for the third consecutive game. Stick is now out of elevations and will need to be added to Tampa Bay’s active roster for next week if the Bucs want him to continue to backup Daniels if Mayfield remains out.
The team left a small crack for cornerback Benjamin Morrison to be active, not ruling him out. But he was designated as doubtful, foretelling him being on the inactive report.
Bucs Inactives
The only real question was whether running back Sean Tucker would be active or not. Tucker was listed as questionable, and Bucs head coach Todd Bowles told the media on Friday that he would most likely be a game-time decision. The team elevated practice squad running back Josh Williams ahead of the game just in case Tucker couldn’t go. We now have the answer, as Tucker joins the other three on the inactive report.
Players Inactive for Today’s Game vs. Pittsburgh (10/18):
#6 QB Baker Mayfield
#21 CB Benjamin Morrison
#31 S Antoine Winfield Jr.
#44 RB Sean Tucker
#72 G Luke Haggard
#75 G Billy Schrauth
#90 DL DeMonte CapehartElevations:
#16 QB Easton Stick
#18 RB Josh Williams— Buccaneers Communications (@BuccaneersComms) October 18, 2026
With Tucker not available, the team has Williams active and will undoubtedly lean on backup Kenny Gainwell to complement starter Bucky Irving. After signing him to a two-year, $14 million contract, Gainwell has yet to really break out in a struggling offense under offensive coordinator Zac Robinson.

The remainder of the inactives follow previous weeks. With health strong along both the offensive and defensive lines, reserves Billy Schrauth, Luke Haggard and DeMonte Capehart are all without hats today.
Steelers Inactives
On the other side of the ball, the Steelers will be without the services of multiple wide receivers. Ben Skowronek and Roman Wilson were both ruled out on their Friday injury report. Joining them is safety DeShon Elliott.

Two former Bucs cornerbacks, who the team knows well, are of note for the Steelers. Jamel Dean, who signed a three-year, $36.75 million contract with Pittsburgh in the offseason and was questionable for the game with an ankle injury, is active. He will make his first start against the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
And Sean Murphy-Bunting, who won a Super Bowl with the Bucs in 2020-2021 and re-signed with the Tampa Bay’s practice squad earlier this season only to sign to the Steelers’ active roster last week, is inactive for Sunday’s game.
