The Bucs came out of their Week 1 loss to the Saints relatively unscathed in terms of injury – or at least they thought.
Wide receiver Chris Godwin took a big hit late in the game on Sunday, on a play that resulted in a penalty on Saints safety D.J. Swearinger.
Following the game – and even on Monday or Tuesday – Godwin showed no ill effects from the hit.
On Wednesday that changed according to head coach Bruce Arians.
“Chris Godwin is in the concussion protocol,” Arians said. “[He] did not show any symptoms on Monday or Tuesday and then showed up today (Wednesday) with some so we’re going to be very, very cautious with that. Everyone else practiced.”
