MFM,You state that "we'll enjoy getting the nod over every other conference when there's multiple teams vying for that last playoff spot."  How do you know that?  Has there been ANY criteria released as to how they will make that determination?  We could say that the SEC is the toughest conference but what facts support that for this year?  Certainly not their BCS record this year (potentially 0-2).  You could argue their teams poll better - but how credible is that?  Those same polls had UF and UGA as top 10 at the beginning of the year while FSU was 12th.  It took those polls over 8 weeks before they even RANKED Auburn and MSU.  That lacks credibility.  Either base it only on Compueters - or slot 8 teams with CC's and two wild cards.

I can't speak for the future, but the strength of the SEC as a conference has benefited its members a great deal when final BCS rankings came around. I have no reason to believe that will stop considering there will now be a "selection committee".I can see why you want every conference champion to have a shot. The ACC sucks freakin rocks, and last night was just more proof of that.

i still dont get the SEC SEC SEC thing.

Then you probably never will.

I acknowledge that its a great conference loaded with ranked teams including a handful of really good teams every year. But does chanting that SEC SEC SEC crap make UF fans feel better about being 4-8?

Those were UF fans that made the trip out to Arrlington chanting "SEC!" after the Missouri Cotton Bowl win? I didn't know that.

Living vicariously through Auburn?  Or the rest of the SEC riding Bama's coat tails the last couple years? Arrogant SEC fans just amaze me.

Stupid ACC fans amaze me.

Do Yankee fans cheer for the Sox or Rays in October?

No.......  Why would they? Does the perceived strength of the AL East give them any advantage? Do the vast majority of Yankee players come from the same region of the country as Red Sox players?

I dont think Michigan was cheering for Sparty or Urban over this past week.

Did Shaw or Sweeney talk **CENSORED** about the Big 10?

Its really incredible with so much tradition and strong rivalries in the SEC fans can put all that aside when their team isnt playing and cheer just as hard for a conference rival.

This isn't the same as chanting "SEC!" while leaving a stadium after your team just won an OOC game.

Does it make you feel better watching conference rivals play in BCS games and win titles?

No, AU playing in the BCS title game makes me puke.

Hey at least we play a hard schedule!  Ummmm......ok what does that get you?  Pride?  Is it really great to be a 4-8ter?

Who is doing this?

You can keep your conference pride.

Okay, and we'll enjoy getting the nod over every other conference when there's multiple teams vying for that last playoff spot.

I At the end of the day the goal is to contend for national titles right?

Yes, and contrary to what pussies from FSU think, playing in a tough conference has proven the best way to get there. See:7 in a row

Are FSU fans suppose to feel guilty that they dominated the ACC to get to the title game?

No, why would they? They finally did what they should do every year. Win every game while playing their **CENSORED** schedule.

I sure as hell don't.  I'm happy that we've blown everyone out and I look forward to the test tomorrow. Go Noles!

CSBYou must be pretty freakin stupid to not understand why SEC fans like the fact that they play in what is recognized as the toughest football conference. You must be pretty freakin stupid to not understand why people in the south take so much pride in being the best at football.

not this year my friend.  FSU is the best but you guys will probably try to claim it as part of your streak since FSU is "built like an SEC team."    :P ;) but as you watch us celebrate take solace in the fact that you guys play a tough conference schedule.  ;D Your reign of terror is over.  Get used to this.  We'll be back next year too.....

I was rooting for FSU, genius.Glad they won, but what an embarrassment for the ACC. FSU blows out everyone they face all year, then they run into an above average SEC team and struggle mightily. FSU won, but the strength of the SEC was on full display. That was one of the worst defenses in the SEC, and they held Jameis and co in check for the most part.FSU would not have had the same season playing an SEC schedule.

Yup....and this is what I was trying to tell you all along , Miyagi , and you wouldn't believe me.FSU wasn't going to show up like they had all season , bully , and walk all over an SEC Champion .  They still won , but Auburn had FSU's defense worn down in that 4th quarter - like I knew they would . After Winston FINALLY found a little rhythm in that 2nd half , it really came down to who was going to have the ball last. When Mason scored on that long run with a 1:30 left , I knew they were in trouble , because they scored to fast and left too much time on the clock for Winston.Great game though. Props to FSU for battling and pulling it out in the end.

LULZ"I was trying to tell you!!"You were wrong, you jackass. I was right. FSU won. IDGAF that AU kept it close. You were wrong.FSU was the better team. It's a shame that AU hot as lucky as they did to get to that game, because any SEC team with a pulse on defense, and a serviceable offense could have won that game.AU..... Not so much.  National Champion teams have defense. AU does not.

Enough defense to hold FSU in check.....which you said wasn't possible .....you were wrong dumb ass . About it all. Auburn belonged on that field and actually looked like the better team for the majority of the night. They could have easily won , yet you said it was " going to get ugly" for them. You were wrong . Don't be mad.Now go back to agreeing with me about how good the SEC is ....I hate to get you off track when you are finally right about something...

Missouri and Texas A&M didn't have a problem adjusting to an SEC schedule. I'm sure FSU would adjust as well. Give credit to FSU's defense for shutting down Auburn in the 2nd half. Their defense won the game. Any SEC teams hold Auburn to 10 2nd half points?

They were worn down in that 4th quarter though .They are lucky Mason scored too fast on that last long run leaving Winston with over a minute , because FSU's D was gased at that point and wasn't going to stop Auburn.

Worn out enough to hold them to only 10 points....

They held them in check for about 20-25 minutes, but once FSU made some adjustments they dominated.    31-10 over the last 35 minutes or so.  Auburn belonged on the field though and they had a hell of a game plan defensively.

Exactly.  Auburn put up 21 fast but 14 of those were off 2 short drives (25 yards and 27 yards -- on off a fumble and the other off a solid punt return from FSU backed up inside their 5)Everyone is talking about how Auburn's D held FSU in check.... where's the love for FSU's D holding back Auburn's offense which no one in the SEC could stop?

LULZ"I was trying to tell you!!"

That's the simpleton's schtick.  He goes around putting his foot in his mouth for months on damn near every issue, and then switches positions once is crystal clear he's wrong.  He's done with players like Josh Freeman, Gerald McCoy, Davin Joseph, and Jeremy Trueblood.  He showed everyone what kind of gutless schlep he was when he backed out of the bet he talked so much shit about.Deloris is a clown to be laughed at.  Be entertained by length of his idiocy.

One thing I learned in the past month or so is this: Auburn fans are VERY classy. Seriously, the nicest I've ever dealt with. Another thing.....football related: AU is one hell of a coached football team. They were absolutely prepared, and they came out and punched FSU in the mouth. In the end, though, FSU was able to quell AU's ridiculously efficient rushing attack. That's only because FSU had the depth on the defensive side to keep up. AU was the real deal, and from watching last night I now realize their win against UA was not nearly as fluke-ish as I previously claimed.

Good points -- From my understanding all things  being equal won/loss wise the conference champion will get in before the non-conference champion with an identical record by the selction committee.

i still dont get the SEC SEC SEC thing. I acknowledge that its a great conference loaded with ranked teams including a handful of really good teams every year. Correct! This whole my conference is better than your conference is the drivel of losers trying to feel good about themselves because their team couldn't get it done.  It is kind of a strange mental illness that seems to only reside in one conference in the FBS. Historically when other teams from other conferences dominated CFB you would never hear such nonsense.

Agree  Auburn gets plenty of credit for being very worthy of the label of the SEC's best team.  Like clockwork now the SEC sycophants claim Auburn sucks!  Pretty funny! What probably is the funniest Freak M ( who is suffering miserably due to Bama taking the gas-pipe in their bowl game after losing to Bama's most bitter rival ( GOT A SECOND I WANT TO RUN SOMETHING BY YOU) commentary..  in his the ACC sucks I told expected FSU to win and Auburn sucks..  So predictable so butt hurt.. Gonna be a long off season for the him... Chin up Lil Bama trooper ...Hey JImbo considers Saban one of his mentors!  :D

Wouldn't have been surprised if Saban went into the Noles lockeroom at halftime and gave Jimbo some adjustment pointers. Guess what, I couldn't give a shlt less because.........FSU = 2013 Nat'l Champs!!!!!Nice run, Auburn, but this was the Noles year. In 5 years, who in the f'ck will care that FSU may have had a weak ACC schedule when they won the 'ship in 2013? Answer is simple: Not ONE f'in soul!
