Does Tampa Bay have the right QB in Mike Glennon? Does the Bucs offensive line need to be overhauled? Those are just a few of the questions that new Tampa Bay general manager Jason Light will need to answer in the coming weeks as he assumes control of the Bucs franchise. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=9603:&Itemid=15
That's the rub isn't it? Do the Bucs decide Glennon is the man and bring in a FA vet like Josh McCown and address the OL in the draft or do they draft a QB and address the OL in FA? A little of both? HUGE decisions for Licht and the Buccaneers.I would like the Bucs to sign McCoy long term. Remember well when McKay signed Sapp to his first long term big deal. It was so important then and this would be as important now. Great Buccaneers must STAY Buccaneers. Good for team, fans and organization.

Garv. I agree with locking up our solid players long term and it appears Lovie and Licht feel the same way. At least that's what I get from their pressers.

Lavonte David comes to mind. With VJ, Dotson and Mike Williams signed long term I cannot think of a player on offense we need to worry about. That includes Doug Martin who must show he's the guy we saw in 2011 first......IMO.
They aren't going to lock in players 2 years into 5 year deals. That's not how it works.

Not sure if the amount of years was specified here. But, give us your thoughts.

I don't think Lavonte David has a five year deal. He was drafted in the second round. He'd be going into the third year of a four year deal I believe. I know this, the Bucs will want to keep him..
I'd love to see Doug and MW have banner seasons under this new systems.

You are correct. But I think they'll wait until after 2014 to lock him up. I mistakenly thought you included Martin in the "lock up" category.

Lovie and Licht are both high on David. I have a feeling, since he's been mentioned as one the core players, there's no doubt he'll get an offer. I'm inclined to agree with Booker and Garv that Doug has to repeat or better his numbers to prove he's solid. Tedford could have an easy job of seeing to it that happens.

They cant even discuss a new deal until AFTER his third year..
