Lovie Smith is putting the final touches on his coaching roster as the Buccaneers announced the addition of two more to his staff with the hiring of former Colorado head coach Jon Embree as their new tight ends coach and Dave Borgonzi as a defensive quality control coach. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&Itemid=20&view=item&layout=item&id=9583
Yet another former head coach added to the staff. The players are in for some excellent coaching and I certainly look forward to seeing results coming in WINS!
I wonder what Embree will do with the crystal chandeliers we have masquerading as TEs. The only bright spot was Wright. Stocker has been broken since his arrival. And Crabtree just vanished. Was Schiano's staff to blame? Does Tedford's playbook require a high level of production from this position? If so, will the draft or free agency be the answer? Hmmmm.

Crabtree was hurt. Still has some upside. Stocker and Byham best suited as blocking TEs. If these guys all stayed healthy, they could have a solid, yet decidedly unspectacular bunch at the position. Although, Wright's ceiling is unknown and I think there's reason for optimism. You have a 225 lb. receiver, switch him to TE in his rookie training camp. He goes on to catch 50ish balls and a fair number of TDs. If he gets his weight up to ~245, and is groomed to excel in the new offense, who knows - we may have a top-10 TE. Very impressive rookie year no matter how you look at it.
The only one worth keeping is Wrigt.
He worked with Fred Davis in Washington, I'd imagine that he would be a great pick-up since Shanahan trashed his value. As long as he can stay awake in meetings....

Looks like he did have some early issues with oversleeping and pattern/route running that Jim Zorn highlighted. Also looks like he worked himself through that and went on to star (I love it when a boy child matures into a man. Good for him). Did not see anything about Shanahan. How's that thing with Makini R. Chaka turning out? Word is he's representing himself sans legal council.
I read Fred Davis is facing a 6 game suspension to start the season. Twitter is FAST! This ends the Davis speculation as far as the Bucs go IMO.

Bummer! Any other free agent or draft worthy TEs out there?
Yeah, you want no part of Fred Davis. Even before the suspension - he's regularly trashed on the radio up here by those close to the team. Lazy.
