Are Donald Penn’s days numbered as the starting left tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? If you go by the Bucs apparent interests in the rumor mill, you would have to believe so.Just a couple weeks removed from a report that linked the Bucs to the top offensive lineman that will be available in free agency, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun and the National Football Post reports that the Bucs will “go after” Ravens offensive tackle Eugene Monroe once free agency starts on March 11.Monroe, 26, is in the prime of his career and was considered the Ravens best offensive lineman from last season. The Ravens traded for Monroe in early October, surrendering 4th and 5th round picks to the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire Monroe.Despite Monroe’s success with the Ravens last season, the two sides are far apart on a new contract.Once Monroe did not receive either the franchise or trasition tags on Monday, it was clear that Monroe will enter free agency and could be acquired by another team.Other teams around the NFL can now talk to Monroe, but can not sign him to a contract until March 11 at 4:00.
