Ask Vincent Smith what he thinks about Jadeveon Clowney's passion for the game.I think he's actually able to keep solid foods down now.
The problem is one spectacular play does not make a career...consistency and playing down in an down out builds a career. Clowney had one great year, a decent year and a sub par or below average year not to mention could not mentally play through minor nicks that all football players must be able to not only play through but produce. He mentally checked out as he did not want to get hurt...ultimately it might have hurt his draft stock and could cause teams to doubt him especially if and when he gets paid...
I agree. Living in the Columbia SC area I've watched him his whole college career and he is a "spectacular" play and disappear for most of the game player. That might change in the NFL but he scares me.The better question for that video was not what Smith thought of Clowney, but what he thought of his OLman that totally blew the assignment and let him come through the line untouched.

There were a lot of RB's and QB's that asked the same thing of their offensive lineman after playing Clowney. I could have posted more, but I figured the Michigan hit was the summation of his ability (plus, as a Buckeye, I have this one playing in my office 24/7).If the interview process determines the kid is a loaf - pass on him. If the interview determines he's motivated, then you look at his coaching.Motivation can not be improved upon, coaching can.

As I said I've watched him his entire SC career and he would grade out high on the "loaf" scale. It may be him trying to not get injured, but my neighbor is an alum and a huge SC supporter and he says the same thing. With this "once in a generation" talent that is talked about, it is funny that Michael Sam from Mizzou led the conference in sacks and tackles for loss.
I'd be more than willing to take a chance - his vicious against the run, and he is QB terror...Just what a 4-3 under RDE is supposed to be.

If you can find it, watch the highlights from the SC vs NC game this year...
