Atleast be fair about it. I was the only one who wanted the Darnold/Kubiak combo. Let me guess, it doesn’t count.
You did want Darnold over Mayfield in 2024. You are not the only one that liked Kubiak as OC in 2025. There were plenty of us saying he was a great candidate.
What does any that have to do with the price of tea in China? Darnold/Kubiak weren't the reason Seattle had the #1 scoring defense last season. Their HC/DC is actually good at what he does.

Doesnt count. Got it.
Defense got a goal line stand up 17-13 in the 4th. Offense immediately fumbles and the fan and Bucs media reaction is to blame Bowles. It’s ignorant.
Then they gave up a TD.
Then the offense scored a FG (and yes it should have been a TD but players fucked up)
Then the defense gave up a long drive to score the game winning fg as time expired.
So AT BEST the last 3 defensive possessions were:
A long drive that resulted in a 4th down stop and bad fg position for the offense
A short field drive for a TD.
A long drive that resulted in a game winning fg.
Had the defense come up with a goal line stand prior or gotten a stop on the last drive, then you could hang your hat.
But the reality is Bowles' game plan was to keep everything in front which resulted in long drawn out drives that kept the offense off the field and out of rhythm.
How many times did the Bucs offense punt? How many possessions did they have?
It was far from a stellar game but IN THE END the defense had 2 more chances to get stops and it couldn't.
But the reality is Bowles' game plan was to keep everything in front which resulted in long drawn out drives that kept the offense off the field and out of rhythm.
It is still funny to read that kind of take.
The Bucs defense didnt keep the Bucs offense out of rhythm, the offense did. Mistakes and failures to convert key place EARLY. In 2024 the typical Bucs loss was falling behind early and that is what they did and the offense still had a chance late and choked that way TOO
Here's the EARLY failures on the offense:
Offense Drive 1 - FG instead of TD because of TWO incomplete passes to McMiallin, one for a first down he absolutely has to catch. THAT IS ONTHE OFFNSE, NOT THE DEFENSE
(Bucs DEFENSE stops Commanders on DOWNS)
Offense Drive 2 - LETS BUILD A LEAD! Nope . . .a PUNT after great runs then two bad runs and an incomplete
1st QTR ends Bucs had the ball almost 8:00, but only got 3 points
Commanders with a 92 yd TD drive and 9:00 -- definitely on the defense
Offensive Drive # 3 - big moment, time to show up . . . NOPE they PUNT
Here are the LATE CHOKES
If youjump to the 4th qtr is definitely the offense who chokes it away because its 17 to 13. . . BUCS 4 point lead . . bring on that RUN GAME
On top of that . .Bucs Defense stops the Commanders ON DOWNS. Almost 6 minutes of the 4th qtr gone and ZERO point to show for it
BRING ON THE RUN GAME . . . .
NOPE . . . . FUMBLE that results in an extreme short field TD, lead LOST
No worries, we get the ball back with plenty of time ONLY DOWN 3.
They only get 3 . . . and WHY? WHY do they only get three?
Big pass to your guy Otton, followed by BIG RUN . . but then zero on 2nd and 1 and -2 on 3rd and 1
Thats the OFFENSE, not the defense killing its rhythm lmao
The 2024 season saw the offense as the star for sure, but just as sure it CHOKED away the playoff game If anything, Bowles defense played ABOVE its actual ability.
the offense 100% blew that playoff game.
I'm worried about you.
what can i say...im an equal opportunist
the offense was the only reason the Bucs were relevant in 2024....but in that playoff game, they shit the bed
as Bowles leg humpers have stated, it was a 17-13 game and Baker fumbles on our own 13 yard line. Maybe the 2002 Bucs defense could hold the opponent to a field goal there but 9 times out of 10, the opposing offense is scoring a TD; really hard to fault the defense there.
there was than the infamous Graham Barton false snap which instead of converting a 3rd and 1, let to a loss play and field goal.
the fact of the matter is, that despite the defense not being able to get off the field, the offense had 7 drives in the game and put up a pedestrian 20 points. The game earlier that year, you say, they had 8 drives and put up 37 points.
Bowles should be fired. Bowles was carried by the offense in 2024. The offense shit the bed in the playoff game. All these things can be true.
the offense was the only reason the Bucs were relevant in 2024....but in that playoff game, they shit the bed
this
Bowles defense was definitely part of the loss. For example, on the last drive they capitalized on a zone blitz that they saw coming from a MILE away. I was actually surprised we didnt adjust out of it when their RB didnt move over, as sure sign they saw it coming.
BUT the defense made several big stops AND the offense failed to execute multiple times, including a huge turnover.

like in todays NFL, it's hard for me to blame the defense if they give up 20 points. 20 points to me means the defense did their job
23 points....not a great or bad performance but mediocre. Its the average of points scored in a game.
so to me 23-20 means the offense underperformed.
and ill go one step further. As shitty as our defense was down the stretch in 2025....definitely need improvement but the offense was just as much to blame
20-17 WIN over Arizona - thank god for that defense that almost choked it away
24-20 loss to New Orleans. I mean defense performed close to average. offense just under
29-28 loss to Atlanta. this is on the defense
23-20 loss to Carolina - Again, offense didnt do average
20-17 loss to Miami - this is on the offense
16-14 win over Carolina. thanks god for that defense
so you can see of the 2-4 record through our "Easy schedule"; the defense stepped up in the 2 wins. Performed above average in 1 of the losses, performed to average in 2 other losses, and shit the bed in one loss.
Statistically a piss poor defense but the offense was just as much to blame down the stretch
Pewter Report, JoeBucsFan, WDAE don’t realize the harm they’re doing by being so negative on Bowles. The fans feed off it and makes the energy shit. Every comment is fire Bowles, blame everything on Bowles. It’s exhausting, lazy, ignorant and it hangs a dark cloud over the team.
His resume here deserves far more respect. Embarrassing for people to get on these podcasts and have these takes.
His resume here deserves far more respect.
In Tampa, Bowles has the same record (35-33) as Mike McDaniel - who was just fired. His career winning percentage is lower Joe Philbin. Joe fuggin' Philbin. Quite the resume.
The leghumpers are funny.

Defensive coordinator doesn’t count on his resume? Should have known.

so the final is 23-20. That means that the defense performed about where it did all season (22.7 ppg) and the offense UNDER shot by about 9 point (29 ppg)

When discussing his current job as Head Coach? No, it doesn't.
You sound like you're new to NFL football.

make no mistake out it, Bowles should have been fired after the collapse in 2025. Not many coaches survive that. And let’s not act like he has Andy Reid resume
bowles Bucs were an embarrassment in 2022, he earned some goodwill in 2023 and 2024
the goodwill ended and pressure ramped up when we lost offensive phenom and reason for success in Coen
we then see in 2025, the defense get worst, baker regress without coen, and a playoff miss - the opposite of progress
the energy is shit because the glazers signaled to entire fan base they didn’t give a shit
anyone not seeing that is a blind homer
