I haven't really seen anything stating that he is (unless I missed it). If San Fran wins on Sunday, does that send Lavonte to Hawaii?
But if the Pro Bowl is unconferenced, does that guarantee a NFC player replaces a NFC Super Bowl bound player?-or does the unconferenced part only refer to the fact that Rice and Sanders are picking the teams?
According to this, he's not an alternate at all. Is there anywhere else to see the list of alternates? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1903311-pro-bowl-2014-roster-unconferenced-voting-results-selections-and-alternates
It's a joke game anyway. Totally irrelevant.
Spoke to a Bucs PR rep today for you, and they said, truthfully they have no idea. It would make sense, however, how it is determined was something the rep wasn't clear on.

Yeah, I stopped reading at Bleacherreport.com...

Sure is. Might be good to be named and then go to a nice dinner. The game itself is asinine, only provides an opportunity for a good player to get hurt for nothing. Ridiculous.

I'm sure Lavonte would rather be All-Pro than a Pro Bowl player any day of the week. But there's still some recognition there. Frankly, I think they should just honor them in Hawaii for being named to the Pro Bowl, have some charity event with flag football or something. But don't actually have a Pro Bowl game...
I'm curious if Lavonte had any bonus tied to making the PB. Anyone know?

Really don't know for sure. My from the seat of my pants guess would be that on a rookie 2nd rd draft pick contract the answer miiiiight be "no". Like I said though, no real clue.

I'd agree with that. Do a bunch of skills competitions, interviews, discuss the season with players, show them visiting Hawaii and doing fun stuff like ziplining and wake boarding, then wrap it up with a flag football contest for charity. Could even do that rock and jock style with celebrities. If be way more interested in that than the current probowl game.
