Wait, when did we hire Mike Sherman because that's what his sources last time were telling him about who we were hiring last time.I wouldn't be so quick to proclaim your greatness when that clown is your "evidence."
Though I like Jon Gruden, he may be better suited to his job now. Would have been happy about it though. IMO Lovie is a FAR better choice than Bill Cowher who has been away from the game for far too long. Bottom line, Lovie was the right man for the job and working with Jeff Tedford on offense will be a lot of fun to watch.
Hard to rely on anything by LaCanfora, but whatever

I agree with you, Garv.

LOL - a rare sighting... good to hear from you
This story elevates my opinion of the Glazers considerably. It takes a strong desire to win in order to swallow your pride and attempt to re-hire someone you fired several years ago. Good for them. It's no wonder they are so successful in the business world. They do what it takes to succeed.
This story is likely untrue because:1) There was ill will from Gruden after his fire.2) More importantly it came from LaCanfora3) Gruden (or his agent) is notorious for making connections to every open job opportunity out there. I think more people have purportedly "tried" to hire Gruden than any other coach ever.
Not sure if and untrue is the right thing here. Bearing in mind how the Glaziers have been have been burnt by their first choices in the past it is certainly within the realms of possibility the Glazer's were trying to cover the bases. Lovie could easily have been their first choice but seeing as Detroit for example were also apparently in the hunt, they could easily have been working on plan B and C. I guess we will never know.
I find this hard to believe, and that's before I found out it was LaCanfora.

You have a gift for understatement :D
Hah - Booker stayin' classy...but direct!Good to see you too dbucffan! I've just been out running some 9 routes (you know, on my own, in a secluded place, no witnesses).I will say this, I almost didn't post it because it was from Lacanfora, but noted he sighted Dungy and Gruden - and neither have denied it.

This has the opposite effect on me. I think the Glazers had to be out of their minds to seek out Cowher and Gruden. This confirms my opinion that the Glazer boys do not know what the f**k they're doing. Fortunately, we got Lovie, and we can forget about the Glazer Family Circus until the next time a new coach is needed, which will hopefully be a long time from now.

I'm leaning this way myself - playing safe - because their last "bold" move failed.Who knew going "The Rutgers Way" would be considered bold?Unfortunately, I think they've become shrinking violets, they knew most of the fanbase would give Lovie a chance...because he's "family".We have to get into some self-delusion pretty quick, start drinking the kool aid - what choice do we have? Hope that rebuilding and reinstalling the namesake defense will be enough to get back to mediocrity. Make the playoffs, lose in early rounds, go home and profess "this is success"...like they're doing in Cincinnati tonight...

The next thing credible report from LaCanfora will probably be his first. I'd like to hear it from someone other than him.
