This has lead some to speculate that offense will be again his Achilles' heel in Tampa. I would caution you not to buy into that crap. It is precisely because I know how much Lovie is willing to change and adapt that I am confident he has learned over this season out of football that his offense will have to pull its share of the load as well. He isn't some jackwagon that doesn't self-evaluate; he knows that defense wasn't the reason he was let go by the Bears. If anything I expect the Bucs to light up the scoreboard next season with Lovie leaning hard on new offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford"
More:If you think Gerald McCoy had a great season this year, just wait until Lovie lets him rush the B gap almost every play with minimal stunting. Same for LaVonte David, same for Mark Barron, same for Adrian Clayborn, same for Revis
Thanks for sharing, good praise from Steve White. I hope we put up points next season, but it is difficult to not be as skeptical.
I figured White would foresee big things for GMC in a less stupid defense. I tend to agree. I think David will flourish but might not get the sack figures he had this year again.

another interesting part is the stuff about Bowers. I don't hold out much hope for Bowers myself, but it seems White thinks Bowers does better under Lovie. . .. maybe that Bowers got a little "doghouse" treatment under Schiano

Nice analysis and I particularly like the use of the word jackwagon. It shows intelligence, analytical skills and a sense of understanding few can grasp. ;)

http://mmqb.si.com/2013/10/17/lovie-smith-minority-coaches/6/ "Smith is off the couch now, an arm’s length from the screen, gesticulating as if back inside a Halas Hall meeting room. His movements are broad and purposeful. His thoughts unspool in long tangents. About the pointlessness of dropping a normally pass-rushing linebacker into coverage. (“Every time he doesn’t rush, you know what the offense is saying? Phew! Good!”) "David has a talent for blitzing. I think Lovie will work with that.
Briggs didn't do much in terms of sacks, but Urlacher had various years with 4-6 sacks under Lovie.
The thread started about Lovie and the offense and every post after that was defense. We don't need defense. We need a HC offense oriented and a OC with solid experience.IMO, so far we have neither in the Lovie regime.Virtually every thread on here talks about defense since Lovie was hired. Extremely disappointed. Not good for the future.
The quickest way to turn the Bucs into a winner is defense. They have talent on D and with a better scheme and hopefully a good DE could be very good. That and a competent offense plus a schedule that should be a little easier and they should compete. The question is how do we match up in our own division?
My only question with the offense is the guy behind the center.. It is rather obvious that the game plan for Glennon will be the same... Get him rolling out of the pocket even if it means overloading one side of the defense. Once Glennon starts going towards either sideline it is money in the bank for the opposing team. Just close your eyes and Pray when that happens!

That kind of thing should happen a lot less often with a different scheme, better OL play, and better/healthy WR corps. Teams were able to do that frequently because:1) Glennon was a rookie2) OL played poorly and you could see them mail it in at the end of games3) We only fielded 1 legit NFL WR4) We ran very slow developing plays.

Sounds like you have no confidence in Tedford. And even less in the staff that is being assembled. I really would hate to sit through the whole off season without even a sliver of confidence a better team than what we've previously witnessed will take the field. Why even watch this team? No malice intended. Just asking. PS: Who, that is available, would you think is better. Names only, please?

We don't need defense? Whoa!!
Tedford's offense is going to be fun to watch.
