If you haven't heard Teddy's Bridgewater's Pro Day has been perceived as bad. Mike Mayock among many others has been critical ( http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000334589/article/analysts-teddy-bridgewaters-pro-day-workout-rather-lackluster & video of the pro day http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/0ap2000000334660/Bridgewater-fails-to-impress-at-pro-day). Now, (a) it's a pro day and much less important than game film and (b) there are a lot of smokescreens this time of year. So understand I recognize that. But something that struck me as odd whenever I watched Bridgewater's hilights is how a lot of his throws "flutter": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br9-OACeru4 The ball often doesn't have a compact spiral and doesn't seem to have as much velocity because of it. Even just logically, a football with a tighter spiral will be more aerodynamic than one without (never mind what that says about throwing motion). Now I don't, even as a hobbyist, evaluate much QB play. But that was a concern as soon as I saw him throw and would seem to dovetail with concerns of analysts about arm strength and deep accuracy. My question is, have others seen this? Am I overblowing something that is more cosmetic?
